Cloud Agent IDE wiring

When to use: Skills do not appear in Cursor agent chat, you are configuring a Cloud Agent environment with multiple repos, or a consumer repo should inherit the catalog without its own .cursor/skills commit.

This is IDE discovery setup for Cloud Agents (and the same pattern on a dev machine). Cursor is implemented first via ~/.cursor/skills. Other agents on the same pod can use --all-ides when Claude Code, Copilot, or shared .agents/skills parity is needed.

Implementation is Node (wire.mjs) with unit tests. Cloud environments still run it from bash install hooks (node …/wire.mjs); bash is assumed available on Cloud Agent VMs.

BLUF

From hoen-library root:

npm install
npm run wire:skills

That links ~/.cursor/skills → this checkout’s library/skills/ (absolute path) so hoen-assessment and other siblings inherit the catalog. Start a new agent chat after wiring.

Instructions

1) Default (Cursor Cloud Agent)

Do not use ~/.cursor/skills-cursor/ (Cursor reserved).

2) Persist on Cloud Agent boot

Add to environment install after checkout — see cloud-agent-environment.md for hooks (npm install → husky) and optional lychee to match CI.

3) Verify

4) Hooks before push

Run from hoen-library so commit-msg and pre-push fire:

npm run lint:links

Pre-push runs the same validators CI uses; without lychee locally, link checks are skipped with a hint — CI still enforces on PR.

Consumer repos

Point AGENTS.md at library/skills/ and library/use-cases/ only; no committed symlinks when user-level wiring is used. General transplant patterns: ide-specific-skill-wiring.md.
